Abstract:
Corrosion during standstill is currently one of the main reasons for severe plant damages and thus for huge costs.
Improper layup practices are a major contributor to boiler tube failures and to steam turbine pitting and cracking.
This webinar will deal with the conditions that facilitate corrosion and what can be done to prevent it.
Different prevention strategies as well as their pros and cons will be discussed.
Several hints for proper planning and application of the available layup procedures and techniques for the different types of standstill will be given.
