Publisher's Announcement: Bye-Bye Print! A New Chapter for the PPCHEM® Journal

With Issue 6/2025, PPCHEM® is publishing its final printed edition. After more than 26 years, the familiar yellow journal – launched in July 1999 as the PowerPlant Chemistry® journal – is closing its print chapter. Over more than a thousand articles, the journal has become a trusted scientific and technical resource for professionals around the world working with water, steam, and chemistry in complex industrial systems.

Over these 26 years, the well-known yellow periodical has accompanied an industry in constant transformation. It has documented scientific advances, reported on emerging technologies, and provided a platform for experts to share experience and best practices. The print edition has been both a technical reference and a tangible symbol of a dedicated professional community that spans continents.

From its origins in Germany to its long-standing development in Switzerland, the journal has consistently upheld the same principles: technical rigor, independence, and a commitment to supporting safe, reliable, and economically sound operation of systems utilizing water and steam. Water treatment and cycle chemistry are not only challenges in power generation, but also in all industrial processes where water or steam is used. The PPCHEM® journal serves all users striving to increase reliability, availability, economic viability, and the operational and environmental safety of their processes. This mission continues to guide us today.

Although the print edition is coming to an end, the journal's evolution continues with renewed energy. As of 2026, the PPCHEM® journal will become fully digital and together with this transition, we are introducing a completely redesigned online platform that expands far beyond journal publishing. It brings together all our activities in one integrated, modern hub:
