February 2018 - Editorial

Dear PowerPlant Chemistry readers:

For the first time in this year the production of our journal is coming to an end. This issue has been quite a challenge and we have had to postpone our publishing date several times. Due to the late arrival of issue 1, we have decided to adapt the editorial schedule of the upcoming issue. The new dates are published here on our webpage – most importantly, the call for papers for issue 2 is still open!

Therefore, I would like to repeat my call for papers: Are you a person working in power plant chemistry, in this exciting technical and scientific area? I would like to encourage you to submit a paper for publication in our journal. We are always looking for interesting papers and contributions from station chemists about their on-site experience. Share your knowledge with your colleagues from other plants by publishing an article in our journal. Of course we are also interested in application notes, case studies, or research papers – I am already looking forward to your letter or e-mail announcing a future contribution to our journal.

As every year, the abstracts of all the articles published in this journal in the past year are presented in this first issue. All the abstracts of the articles from 2017 – as well as older abstracts – can now be downloaded from our website.

Another thing to be mentioned here is the conferences, seminars, and other events our journal is involved with. I would like to remind you that only by continuing exchange with colleagues and experts in the field is it possible to keep up-to-date with the ongoing developments in power plant chemistry. If you haven't participated in these events in the past, I greatly encourage you to do so this year. The most important events in 2018 are listed in our events calendar; for many of the events you can find more detailed information in this issue.

As we can't have our eyes and ears everywhere, it is possible that we might overlook one event or another; if you think that there is an important event missing from our events calendar, please let us know!
