December 2018 - Editorial

Dear PowerPlant Chemistry readers:

While writing these comments, we are in the final stages of editing the articles and putting together the final shape of this issue. The end of the year 2018 is approaching fast – therefore I would like to use my space here for a short review of the past year, but also for an outlook for the new year.

Publishing a journal involves a lot of effort from people working in the background – the work of our team in the editorial office and the support and advice of all of the members of the international advisory board are key to the success of our journal. Therefore, I would like to thank all the people involved in the production of the journal in the past year for their support.

I would also like to thank all the people who support our journal from the outside. It is only due to the commitment of all the authors, the advertisers, and the readers that we are able to publish a journal filled with theoretical papers and papers dealing with practical operating experience from all around the world.

Looking towards the next year, I would like to remind you of our never-ending quest for appropriate papers to publish in our journal. My personal wish for the upcoming holiday season is that all of you can not only reload your batteries and spend time with your family and friends but that you will perhaps also find time to plan a future contribution to our journal. With the daily routine stopped for a while, it might be that some of you will come up with an idea for an interesting paper to share with your colleagues all over the world.

I am already looking forward to your letters and e-mails announcing a future contribution to our journal.

Another thing to be mentioned here is the conferences, seminars, and other events our journal is involved with. I would like to remind you that only by continuing exchange with colleagues and experts in the field is it possible to keep up-to-date with the ongoing developments in power plant chemistry. If you haven't participated in these events in the past, I greatly encourage you to do so in the upcoming year. The most important events in 2019 are listed in our events calendar.

As we can't have our eyes and ears everywhere, it is possible that we might overlook one event or another; if you think that there is an important event missing from our events calendar, please let us know!

Finally, I wish you all a happy and prosperous new year!
