Nobody is perfect; everybody makes mistakes sometimes. We apologize to the authors and to our readers for the mistake in the article

Albert Bursik and Wolfgang Hater:
All-Volatile Treatment with Film Forming Amines – A First Suggestion for an Application Guidance
PowerPlant Chemistry 2015, 17(6), 342–353

The Table 1 on page 349 is incorrect.
The correct value (column "AVT(F)", location "Boiler Drum/Blowdown/Downcomer", parameter "Conductivity after cation exchange") should read ≤ 5 S · cm–1 instead of ≤ 0.5 S · cm–1.

Head for Orlando, FL!

PowerPlant Chemistry 2011, 13(8), 472–482

The last time we published an erratum on this homepage was in May 2010. Now, more than one year later, we have to inform you about a serious mistake that was made in the September 2011 issue. In our article "Head for Orlando, FL!" (PowerPlant Chemistry 2011, 13(8), 472–482), we correctly stated the place and the date of the 72nd Annual International Water Conference® (Orlando, FL, November 13–17, 2011); unfortunately, we included the abstracts of the presentations from the 71st Annual International Water Conference® (IWC) instead of those to be held at the 72nd Annual IWC.

We sincerely apologize for this serious error. However, our statement that "this year, power plant chemists and engineers interested in power plant chemistry-related topics have an additional but very important reason to pay Orlando a visit: on November 13–17, the 72nd Annual International Water Conference® (IWC) will take place in Orlando" still holds true.

Please download here all the abstracts of the papers to be presented in Orlando.

Peter J. Clark: Effects of Steam Sample Degassing on CCGT Station Start-up Profile

PowerPlant Chemistry 2010, 12(4), 246–251
Figures 3 and 4 (page 249) are entirely incorrect. The corrected version of the figues can be downloaded now. The corrected article is also available for free.

2.2008

What Is Plant Cycle Chemistry and Why Is It Important for Steam and Power Generating Plants?

Now we have to inform you about our most recent mistake: In the February 2008 issue, in Lesson 1 – What Is Plant Cycle Chemistry and Why Is It Important for Steam and Power Generating Plants?, there is a problem with Figure 1 (page #123). In the caption of the figure, you read Simplified schema of a plant cycle with a drum boiler; in the figure, however, there is a simplified sketch of a once-through boiler. Although this detail does not detract from the understanding of the basic configuration of a plant cycle, which this figure is intended to aid in, this mistake has to be corrected.

You may download for free the corrected Lesson 1 here [Download PDF] We apologize again for this inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.
